Workflow
Teamwork is the work management component of Cognition. An out-of-the-box, configurable and scalable workflow management tool providing end-to-end solution for business process resolution.
Features of Cognition workflow:
- A unit of work in Cognition is defined as a Work Item
- Work Items can be manually (or automatically via scheduled task services) generated through the BUI, via business transaction processing events or via an external API.
- Users are arranged in teams that have access to certain categories and types of work
- Work Items are progressed through a user defined Work Flow
- Work Flows are defined using
- Steps – incremental steps the flow follows
- Routes – the Work Flow may change route (i.e. follow new steps) depending on user interaction
- Users navigate the Work Flow with Step Types
- Instruction – an action to be carried out
- Question – a true/false response that may change the route the Work Flow follows
- Choice – a response to a number of choices that may change the route the Work Flow follows
- System actions are instigated by the Work Flow with Step Types
- Task – an Application Task is initiated
- Logic – an Application hook determines the current data position is correct for this step of the Work Flow
- User responses to all work item steps are recorded and can be used subsequently in efficiency reporting
